Garment Tracking Accuracy with RFID

Hand counting and bar coding have been the standard garment tracking methods in the past. Some downfalls include the possibility of miss-scanned garments due to fading bar code tags that have been washed several times. After all, human hand counting is dependant on human accuracy! The solution to these problems is simple…the Radio Frequency Identification Chip (RFID)!

The Passive Radio Frequency Chip (RFID) to the Rescue!

RFID is the 21st century's answer to bar coding. Lechner and Sons moved into a brand new facility in Mt. Prospect, Illinois at the beginning of 2004. The new plant features state-of-the-art technology and has installed RFID into our entire garment inventory!

Precise garment tracking eliminates delivery inaccuracies for you, our valued customer. We have installed the RFID chips to improve all areas of production such as processing repairs, garment control, and special request-MUCH MORE EFFICIENTLY!

What is it?

The chip is about the size of a U.S. dime and individually identifies every garment that is issued to our customers. RFID chips have a specific number assigned to them and must not be removed from our garments.

Where is it on my garments?

We are placing the chips behind manufacturer's labels in the waistband of all pants and in the tail of all shirts.

Is it safe?

The chip is harmless. RFID uses the same technology as new popular credit cards and some employee identification cards. No frequency is emitted from the chip until it is placed in front of a power-supply antenna.
